Summer Mental Health Project
Learn to Crochet the Basics – Free 4 Week Virtual Crochet Class
with Kerry Blumenthal & Special Appearance by Keturah
Studies show that knitting and crocheting help combat depression, anxiety and other forms of mental health. Join us in this FREE 4 Week Virtual Zoom Class, as we make something fun and learn something new. We will fellowship online with our sisters from all over to relax and have a mental break against the anxiety, depression, and worry that COVID-19 has caused our communities all over the world. THIS IS BASICALLY A VIRTUAL CROCHET/YARN HANGOUT LOL… Classes begin in June, every Wednesday night @6pm CST for the entire month!
We will learn the basics of crocheting including technique, basic stitches, crocheting square, and rectangle projects, crocheting in the round, and making a basic granny square. Projects include creating a dishtowel, scarf, beanie hat, and granny square mini-project. All skills learned can be used to make larger projects further on.

About the Instructors:
Kerry is an avid crafter and lover of yarn. You can find her in the yarn shops… live without yarn is not possible. Kerry loves nature and loves to crochet. Keturah runs a community online called “Crochet Savvy” which featured a digital magazine of the same name from 2011-2015 until she was called to take over with her husband at CMY. You can find the magazine online at issuu.com. She is still active in the crafting community and designs as a hobby. Keturah is a multi-crafter who knits, crochets, and spins yarn. They are both Texans by nature and by spirit.
This class is free and anyone can join. However, if you are in need of a crochet hook set, we have a limited supply for sale in the shop for $10 that also comes with a “basics to crochet” booklet that you can also use for this class. If ordering the set, please do so before May 25th to allow time for shipping. Shipping is limited to Canada and the USA only. Thanks in advance. – Nishmati
